Introduction

E-mail sent over the public Internet is usually in clear text (not encrypted) , making it easy for hackers to intercept and read or change without detection. Therefore, in an effort to protect the privacy of our messages, Lancashire County Council has partnered with ZixCorp to provide a secure messaging solution for email and attachments.

Lancashire County Council Secure Messaging ensures that sensitive electronic communications (email and attachments) remain secure between Lancashire County Council, its business partners and the public.

Business partners and the public may access and reply to sensitive email sent to them from Lancashire County Council at no cost using a straightforward webmail interface which is similar to normal webmail systems such as Hotmail or Yahoo Mail. A quick registration process is initially required to obtain access to this service.

This service has many key benefits and features:
  • Ensures that targeted electronic communications are secure.
  • Is of no cost to our business partners or members of the public.
  • Requires no installation of special software.
  • Uses a standard Webmail front-end (similar to Hotmail)

This web site is intended to introduce our business partners and the public to this service. Please click on the links to the left to view information on those topics.
